Sunshine and Repotting

The sun very nearly shone today and the rain held off  – took the biggest plants out into the garden to repot them. The larger Crassula ovata ‘Gollum’had a nasty case of root mealy, not sure how to treat that,  have heard that Crassulas are sensitive to the effective (but apparently very dangerous) Ultimate Bug Killer.

Fortunately, neither the smaller Gollum nor the big old Cereus peruvianus monstrose had the same problem. The Beaucarnea from Gordon Rigg’s bargain corner seemed rocky in the pot and the compost was horrible, very dry and fibrous. Got rid of a lot of it when repotting, just hope  the resulting root damage doesn’t bring on a fatal case of rot.
